WOD: Friday, October 14

Hey everyone!

Friday’s Strength piece looks a little different… You’re going to have the option to do some sandbag to shoulder + a sandbag carry OR a yoke walk + goblet squats. You can choose to do 4 of the same thing, or you can do some of both. Either way, the idea is to go immediately from the first part to the second. So if you’re doing the sandbag, you’ll do 3 sandbag over shoulder as fast as possible, and then immediately pick the sandbag back up and carry it the length of the gym. For the yoke, you’ll run the yoke the length of the gym (you can feel free to load it up as you see fit), and then you’ll immediately grab your heavy KB and do 10 goblet squats. Both of these complexes will be taxing muscularly and cardiovascularly. Be prepared. 😃

WOD: Monday, October 10

Hey hey everyone! We have entered the next phase of our current programming cycle. For our strength training, we’re going to drop the volume a bit and increase the intensity. This means we’ll be doing fewer reps at higher percentages. For those of you who don’t know or don’t have current 1RM’s on your lifts, ask your coach what a certain percentage should feel like. As a general rule, multiple reps anything over about 80% of a true 1RM should feel challenging but doable. But you should feel like you need to take a second and mentally prepare to approach the bar.
