The next MAX OUT SATURDAY is February 15.



Hey Barbell Club Team!
As we enter the last few weeks of this training block, a few things are going to start to change.
1. Notice the * by the sets of Back Squat and Bench Press today (and Deadlift on Saturday). This indicates that these can be sets of 1-3 reps. 90% is very heavy, and you might find that 3 reps is out of reach on a given day. That’s OK. If you can only do 3×1 at your 90%, that’s what you should do.
2. We are decreasing our accessory volume. As we get closer to the end of the block and retesting our maxes (MAX OUT SATURDAY is on Feb 15), we are going to decrease our overall volume so that your body can begin to rest and recover.
3. The percentages on your Medium and Light days are going to decrease from last week. Note that today’s Deadlifts are at 75%, which is lighter than last week. Again, this is with an eye towards beginning the recovery process before we retest our lifts.

Hey Team!
Let’s get these cubbies cleaned up by the end of the week.
It’s fine if you want to leave your stuff at the gym, but please consolidate it to the lower half of the cubbies (and not spilling out onto the floor).
We need to leave the top half clear for people who come to class.
Anything that is still left by the time I leave the gym Saturday afternoon will be removed, and you’ll have to bribe me to get it back. 🙂
