At some point a couple of years ago, I decided that I wanted every month to have a theme. I had “Amazing April,” “Marvelous May,” “Sober October,” etc… You get the idea. I’m an English teacher; I appreciate alliteration and rhyming.
And although I haven’t kept up consistently naming my months like this, I do like to set some intentions for myself at the beginning of each month and try to follow through on them. Just wait for my rant in January about how I think New Year’s resolutions are dumb… What makes January so special???
This month, I invite you to join me for Deliberate December. Choose a habit or practice that you want to be more deliberate about.
Maybe you want to start drinking more water. Maybe your sleep hasn’t been great and you need to reduce screen time before bed. Maybe you need to be more responsible about doing your mobility work so your muscles don’t feel like they have speed bumps in them (this is me). Maybe you have more than one habit that you’d like to modify in some way.
I created this Habit Tracker to help you keep track of your progress. For me, having a visual record of how successful I’ve been really helps me stay on track. I stick this on the side of my fridge and it reminds me to take my supplements, drink water, etc…
The idea here is not necessarily to be perfect, but simply to be more aware of the habits you’re trying to change. On days when you’re successful with your habit, put a check mark or fill in the box some other way. On days that you don’t complete your habit, write nothing. Or put a big red X.
Pick a habit, or two or three, and let’s use the last month of this crazy year to create some meaningful change.
What habits are you going to track? Post to comments so that we can support each other.

Happy Friday! This one will have your legs burning (in a good way)! Enjoy!
