These athletes absolutely crushed it at the Kabuki NW Showdown in Lincoln City on Saturday.
As a team, we got a lot of compliments over the course of the day for our performances on the platform, as well as our sportsmanship, from other athletes, coaches, and the officials at the meet.
Gertrude hurt her back on her 3rd squat attempt, but after getting some bodywork done, she came back and finished out the meet, hitting great numbers on both bench and deadlift. She ended up 3rd in her division against some strong competition. 💪🏼
Sabrina did an amazing job as well. She went 2 for 3 on her squats, hit a meet PR on bench, and set a state record on deadlift. She also got a 1st place medal!
It was Lucy’s first meet ever, and she had a very impressive day, going 8 for 9.
She hit all time PR’s on both squat and deadlift and got a 1st place medal.
Additionally, one of the officials told me that Lucy had the best squat he saw all day. 💪🏼
It was also Tryggve’s first meet; he went 9 for 9, hit PR’s on all three lifts, AND took 1st place in his division.
Overall it was an incredible day, and I could not be more proud of these athletes.
