WOD & Barbell Club: Monday, May 8

Hey everyone! A few notes about the Strength & Conditioning program:

We started a new training block last week, and for the next few months, we’re going to be seeing the olympic lifts (snatch and clean & jerk) twice a week almost every week. 🏋🏻‍♀️

For the first several weeks, these days are going to be technique-focused, meaning we don’t want you to put a lot of weight on the bar; we want you to STAY LIGHT and focus on technique.

Even if you have been working out with us for a long time, technique can always be improved. And especially if you’re newer, this is a great opportunity to learn the lifts without the pressure of feeling like you need to put more weight on the bar.

For today, the snatch pulls and snatches are going to come from the power position (just like last week), and there’s going to be a 3 second pause in the bottom of the lift.

In the conditioning piece of the workout, we have Bear Complexes. 🐻 Bear complex: 1 power clean 1 front squat 1 push press 1 back squat 1 push press You’ll do 5 complexes each round.
